"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.  He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.  With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."   Psalm 91:14-16

This Labor Day trip to Madera was a great example.  We love Him - He protected us.  We called upon Him - He answered us, delivered us and honored us.  We acknowledged His name and know we will be with Him for eternity. 26 STMs traveled 13 hours.  We divided into 3 major groups, and 2 sub groups. Ramp to Elderly Dorm - Dental ministry - Greenhouse -  - Prison ministry - Orphanage ministry.

We completed the stairs, deck and ramp connecting the blue house to what will be the a 5 bedroom, 2 bath dorm for the elderly.

We completed construction on the huge green house where fresh food will be grown to feed many at the orphanage.

Christ's name was acknowledged in the jail-house as we and shared His love, hope and promise of new life.  We witnessed first hand the battle of good and evil and saw the promise that God has made to each of us of His power to overcome evil come to life.  We saw lost, troubled men pray with us and give their lives to Christ.  Please remember them in your prayers.

The dentists Doug, Hua and their assistants worked selflessly for two days straight allowing countless men, women and children to have much needed dental work done. During that time many of us were also allowed to show our love of Christ through kind words and gentle touches while they waited or were having work done.

We fed the children from the orphanage and had dinner for some of the local Pastors and their families. God is really at work there as we had 5 or 6 local churches represented in that group.  Please pray for God to give them what they need to make real change in the community.

Our worship and fellowship time with one another was sweet.  The fun we have together was kicked up several notches as we had the whole town of Madera watching (well almost!) while the crazy Americans in their turquoise shirts danced in the middle of the street singing when the saints come marching in.  If they were not curious about us before they sure are now!
